Jim Crow Laws
Jim Crow laws were put into place by a man named Jim Crow.
He decided that African Americans and whites should not be
subject to the same schools, water fountains, seating on
buses, etc. Because of these rules, the two could not socialize or even
sit next to each other in most cases. This lead to riots, murders,
and protests. Some believed highly in them, but most didn't know
any different, so they just followed them just followed the rules.

Ku Klux Klan
The Ku Klux Klan(The KKK) is a group of Caucasian supremacist who
believed that white people are the superior race. At the time of
the boycott, twenty percent of the American population were
part of the KKK. They were notorious for lynching (hanging)
and beating African Americans. They would get away with it
because many people, who weren't African American, were
okay with it. This created a void between People of color and not.
